A design system built for a pilates studio that didn't want to look like a spa. KOVA needed an identity that communicated discipline and exclusivity from the first scroll, without losing the warmth that makes someone want to book their first class.

KOVA needed to stand out in a market where almost every boutique pilates studio follows the same formula: pastel tones, generic sans-serif, spa-like feel. The challenge was building an identity that felt athletic and editorial at once — serious without losing energy, premium without becoming predictable.

Art direction
I started with an uncommon palette for the category: deep olive green and near-black, with a neon accent that breaks the seriousness just enough. The editorial black and white photography reinforces that tension between discipline and energy.
Design system
Built a system using Nohemi for headlines — geometric, with character — and Satoshi for body text, prioritizing legibility across schedule and class sections. Every component (class cards, buttons, navigation) was designed to scale without losing consistency.

What this project confirmed: in wellness, editorial detail sells more than the expected formula. A boutique studio doesn't need to look friendly. It needs to look desirable.
